Mount Vernon, Illinois, is located on the crossroads of Interstate 64 and Interstate 57 in the Southern part of that state. Built on high ground amid marshes, Mt. Vernon is home to major transshipping operations for both Continental Tire and Walgreens, as well as being home to the Illinois Court of Appeals for the 5th District. Mt. Vernon is served by a small airport and several rail lines including the route of the City of New Orleans made famous in song.
Mt Vernon is a nexus for Anarch activity. Elements from all across America are said to cross paths here. This area is a major intersection of Interstate highway travel, so the Anarchs stepped in to take control.
In 2009 the Free State of Mt. Vernon was put to severe test by a vigorous and well-targeted Sabbat siege. However, it survived, and remains firmly in Anarch hands.
